What is Bromley CVYS ?
Bromley Council for Voluntary Youth Services is an organisation that was formed
to bring together and share the strengths of the many youth organisations in
the borough. Bromley CVYS does not run clubs itself but encourages others to
provide facilities for young people.
Bromley CVYS's objectives are:
-
to promote the education and development of young people in the borough
physically, mentally and spiritually so that they may grow to full maturity
as individuals and members of society and to promote harmonious community
relations
-
to promote co-operation and training through member organisations and for
individuals
-
to act as a focal point for the voluntary youth service in Bromley, to
facilitate and improve communication between the voluntary youth service,
the local council and other appropriate organisations
-
to identify and address issues of common concern and to campaign as appropriate
for young people and youth organisations
-
to act as a voice for the voluntary youth service in Bromley, encouraging
member organisations to give mutual support, share ideas and deal with issues
of mutual concern
-
to encourage young members and their leaders to participate in decision
making issues
-
to share information of common interest and concern - in part through a
quarterly newsletter.
Bromley CVYS is managed by an elected Committee
and governed by a Constitution and Charity
Law in England.
